Invest 94E, the latest tropical disturbance in the Eastern Pacific has been given a 90% chance to form into a tropical depression or named storm over the next 48 hours. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has found that convection has become better organized off the Central American coast as it continues moving northwestward.
With the system already in an area of warm sea surface temperatures, trends in the intensity of the storm will likely be monitored very closely by the NHC for any further intensification. Regardless of if the system becomes a named storm, heavy rainfall, mudslides and gusty winds are expected to affect Northern Central America and into portions of Southern and Central Mexico. The next name in the 2025 Eastern Pacific Tropical Cyclone List is Erick, the fifth of the year, in what has already been a very active Eastern Pacific season.
