Two women shot dead near Clovis, Amber Alert issued for victim’s daughter

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Two women were found dead from apparent gunshot wounds in a park just north of Clovis, New Mexico Friday afternoon. According to the Clovis Police Department, one of the victim’s daughters was found injured and taken to a Lubbock hospital. Another daughter is missing, prompting an Amber Alert.

Police state someone called 911, reporting the two dead women at Ned Houk Park, about five miles north of Clovis. Responding officers found Samantha Cisneros, 23, and Taryn Allen, 23, laying on the ground near silver minivan. A young girl was also found nearby, with a head injury. EMS took the girl to Plains Regional Medical Center, then was transferred to a Lubbock hospital. Both women were from Texico, NM.

Police found an infant car seat, stroller and a small baby bottle at the scene. According to a news release, officers were concerned there was an infant present when the crime occurred. Police immediately began a search for the baby.

After speaking with family, investigators learned Cisneros was mother to the injured girl found at the scene and also 10-month-old Eleia Maria Torres.

Police believe the killer abducted the 10-month-old.

According to Clovis Police, there are currently no suspect details. But it’s believed the perpetrator may have left in a maroon Honda car.
