REGINA - Environment Canada says four tornadoes struck Saskatchewan on Tuesday.

The agency says the first one happened in the afternoon about 15 kilometres west of Golden Prairie, while the second one occurred late in the afternoon just northeast of Val Marie.

Two larger twisters hit close to Wood Mountain in the early evening.

Meteorologist Shannon Moodie says the wind speed was between 90 and 130 kilometres an hour in all four cases, but there were no immediate reports of damage.

East-central Saskatchewan was expected to see some thunderstorm and potential funnel-cloud activity on Wednesday as the system that spawned the turbulent weather moves into Manitoba.

The four tornadoes happened a day after two twisters struck north of Swift Current and west of Moose Jaw near the small community of Chaplin.
