Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM), economic wing of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), on Wednesday (May 14, 2025) condemned Turkiye’s Military Support to Pakistan. The organisation urged the government to impose economic sanctions on the country for its ‘unholy alliance’ with Pakistan and also suggested ban on flights and tourism.
SJM also appealed to the people of India to boycott nations actively helping Pakistan build its offensive capabilities and urged the citizens to boycott Turkish products, travel, and cultural exports as a mark of solidarity with the soldiers and national interest.
“The principle of putting nation first must guide our trade, investment, and diplomatic relationships. Let us choose self-reliance over strategic dependence on nations that empower our adversaries,” said Ashwani Mahajan, national co-convener of SJM.
The SJM’s appeal came amid tensions between India and Pakistan following their recent military confrontation after the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed. The conflict saw Pakistan unleash swarms of Turkish drones to target Indian military facilities.
Expressing shock over Turkiye, a NATO member, supplying arms to Pakistan, Mr. Mahajan said that the country has increasingly aligned itself with radical Islamist regimes and military establishments hostile to India’s sovereignty.
“It is shocking to note that Turkiye, the second-largest arms supplier to Pakistan after China, has played a key role in modernizing Pakistan’s navy and enhancing its aerial warfare capabilities,” he added.
Terming the defence collaboration between Turkiye and Pakistan as an “unholy alliance” that directly compromises India’s national security, the SJM added that the same is not just commercial but ideological, which is targeting the stability of South Asia and emboldening Pakistan’s military adventurism.
“At a time when Bharat has exercised tremendous restraint in the face of repeated provocations from Pakistan — including the harbouring of terror camps and aggressive posturing near the Line of Control — Turkiye’s support amounts to direct complicity. It’s unfortunate that Turkiye didn’t even condemn the brutal terror attack at Pahalgam killing 26 people on April 22,” the SJM official stated.
He also call out Turkiye for forgetting India’s generous and timely humanitarian assistances at time of its worst crisis including the earthquakes that shook the country in February 2023. he also mentioned how, on multilateral platforms like the G20 and U.N., India has consistently supported inclusive engagement with Turkiye as part of the broader West Asian neighbourhood, including dialogue on energy security and counter-terrorism.
“Despite these gestures of solidarity and goodwill, Turkiye has chosen to side with Bharat’s adversaries in matters of vital national security interest. This betrayal of trust must be addressed with moral clarity and strategic firmness,” he added.
