Ain't that some BS. Responsible for how many deaths but he just pays a small fine and walks away with his retirement check

Sadly, seasoned Navy officers have pointed out for years now the deficiencies in training and mentoring in the basics of seamanship and navigation for junior officers, particularly in the Navy's Surface Warfare Officer Basic training course. "Maybe today's Navy is just not good at driving ships" was the headline in Navy Times.
“We do not put a premium on being good mariners,” Hoffman said. “We put a premium on being good inspection takers and admin weenies.” That is retired Navy Captain Rick Hoffman, who commanded two Navy ships.
"....the Navy’s growing reliance on technology has eroded basic seamanship skills, former officers say."

Have ten people dead due to your sloppiness, and get just 6.000 dollars' fine and calm retirement? Wow, what a justice!
