Hotline for Flood Victims in Pennsylvania

If you've been affected by the devastating floods in central and Eastern Pennsylvania, the state government has set up a special hotline to get you help mucking out basements, removing damaged flooring and other physical labor.

Call 272-200-3211 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. to ask for volunteer help.

They'll connect you with the PA VOAD, or Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters. These trained volunteers come from the American Red Cross, Lions Club International, Salvation Army and many faith groups.

It could take several days to respond; PA VOAD said it does prioritize cases based on its criteria and ability to help. But it tries to help everyone who calls.

Callers will need to provide basic information, including their address, the type of work they need help with, and the status of utilities.
