Moderate earthquake hit Timor Region

KUALA LUMPUR: A moderate 5.4 magnitude earthquake struck Timor Region, 79km Northwest Kupang, Indonesia at 7.52pm today.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department in a statement issued here today said the quake occurred 1,562 kmSoutheast Sarikei, Sarawak, the closest location in Malaysia from the epicentre.
The quake, however, poses no tsunami threat. — Bernama
